The Africa Exchange, a Non-Governmental Organization focused on early child development program reached out to Northern Kenya Fund (NKF) in an effort to establish an integrated early childhood development centres in Northern Kenya. Africa Exchange is an American based non-profit organization supporting early childhood education among marginalized communities

Northern Kenya Fund assisted Africa Exchange in identifying the neediest communities in dire need of establishing early childhood centres. NKF facilitated a trip for Africa Exchange to meet the communities and the needy children. Through this collaboration, the African Exchange established three model integrated childhood development centres in Kalacha area of Northern Kenya. The centres have been well established, well-resourced and the young children have started learning in these facilities. NKF assisted in mobilizing the communities and even made some financial contribution in making the project a success. Today all the three centres are functioning optimally and are becoming centres for not only early childhood education but centres of communication interaction and encounters

NKF as a grassroot organization in the area will continue collaborating with Africa Exchange to ensure sustainability of this project. NKF is very grateful for the partnership it has forged with the Africa Exchange and very proud to have brought the organization to pioneer their work in early childhood development in Northern Kenya
